The story of ASICS begins in Kobe in 1949 with just two employees, a small amount of capital, and the strong aspiration of founder Kihachiro Onitsuka to support the physical and mental development of young people through sports. Seventy-five years after its founding, ASICS is now a global company with 8,500 employees worldwide, and more than 80% of its sales outside Japan.

One thing at ASICS has not changed. Our founding philosophy of "A Sound Mind In A Sound Body," which expresses our desire for people around the world to live healthy and happy lives, both physically and mentally, remains the basis of everything we do today. The challenge is to adapt our founding philosophy to the latest trends in society and the world of sport, which are changing at unprecedented speed.

In 2024, we began implementing our Mid-Term Plan 2026, which accelerates our transformation into a Global Integrated Enterprise by further promoting our Global x Digital approach and strengthening collaboration between headquarters and regional business companies. In 2024, we also restructured our management team and resolved to move forward as a more global and cohesive group by making dynamic use of IT platforms, data and talent. Finally, last year we sold all of our cross-shareholdings. The pursuit of global-standard corporate governance forms part of our drive to become a leading stock company.

In a world where the power of sports is recognized anew, and in a society where people find many ways to enjoy exercise and sports, we believe our founding philosophy and brand slogan "Sound Mind, Sound Body" is needed more than ever. Building on our renowned technological expertise, we will deliver new value unique to ASICS, not only through new products and services but also through our new Foundation that supports people with limited access to exercise and sports for social or economic reasons.

As a company trusted by stakeholders and sports lovers around the world, ASICS will do its utmost to ensure healthy minds and bodies and a healthy global environment for future generations.
