Safety and Quality Assurance System at ASICS (SQA System at ASICS)
At ASICS, in order to provide customers with safe and high-quality products and services, we clearly define the roles and responsibilities of each function across the entire value chain—from product planning and development through to post-sales support. In addition, all functions work closely together to continuously maintain and improve our safety and quality assurance activities.

Creation of Design Guidelines and Standards
We have established various guidelines and standards to ensure the safety and quality of our products. Our standards for materials, components, and finished products are regularly updated based on the latest laws and regulations in each country, as well as our accumulated expertise.
Product Liability Review (PL Review)
We consistently apply these guidelines and standards throughout all stages of product development and production. Product safety and quality reviews are conducted for all products during the development phase. In addition, the Safety and Quality Assurance Department conducts independent reviews from a third-party perspective.
Labeling and Marketing Communications
In accordance with our Guidelines for Representations in Advertising Materials for Products and Services, we review labeling and marketing communications to ensure accuracy and transparency. We are committed to ensuring that environmental and social claims are accurate and not overstated, and that we do not disinform customers on competitors' products.
Management of Chemical Substances in Products
ASICS has been a member of the Apparel and Footwear International RSL Management Group (AFIRM) since 2015. The AFIRM Restricted Substances List (AFIRM RSL) is an industry-wide standard designed to improve compliance efficiency and reduce the burden on suppliers. As a general principle, we adopt the AFIRM RSL as our internal standard and manage restricted substances in our products.
Company-wide Approach to Addressing Product Accidents, Defects, and Preventing Recurrence
Our management system includes clear processes for handling product accidents and defects. Based on risk assessments conducted by the Safety and Quality Assurance Department, we take appropriate actions, including regulatory measures and product recalls. We also incorporate lessons learned from all incidents into our processes and update our guidelines to prevent recurrence. In addition, through training and information sharing with employees and suppliers, we ensure consistent quality and safety across the entire value chain.
