Global Business Continuity Policy
ASICS Group (hereinafter, referred to as “Group”) is primarily engaged in the manufacturing and sales of various types of sports goods. The Global Business Continuity Plan is based in the founder’s belief in the Latin phrase “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano,” which is translated as "a sound mind, in a sound body.” To realize the ultimate goal of the ASICS Vision “Create Quality Lifestyle through Intelligent Sport Technology,” we follow the fundamental principles of the Corporate Philosophy as described below.

We declare to use this Global Business Continuity Policy, which is based on the principles of Group’s Business Continuity Management (hereinafter, referred to as BCM) and specifications of the Group’s Business Continuity Plan (hereinafter, referred to as BCP), to address the threats which have the potential to disrupt the Group’s business operations. Furthermore, we vow to continually revise and improve this Policy to address any changes in the Group’s business operations as well as changes in the economy, society, and so forth.
○Global Business Continuity Policy
Priorities following a Disaster
(1) Human Life
The Group’s first priority is to protect the lives of all customers and employees. The components of protection include the following.
① Emergency Response
The Group is establishing emergency response procedures for a variety of potential disruptions.
② Relief Support
The Group is in the process of securing material support (relief supplies, emergency stockpiles, etc.) for all customers and employees in the event of a disaster.
③ Emergency Notification System
The Group is establishing an emergency notification system for a variety of potential disruptions.
(2) Restoration of Operation
The Group is establishing a comprehensive, structured approach to ensure it is prepared for a wide variety of potential business disruptions. The steps being put in place to mitigate the impacts of these business interruptions and restore the critical business operations affected by these disruptions include the following.
① Risk Communication Database
A Risk Communication Database is being put in place which will enable the Group to manage and monitor identified risks to the Group’s critical business operations on a company-wide basis. Employees, in every region of the worldwide operations, will be able to access and share this information, thus facilitating the most effective response possible.
② Communication System
The Communication System, comprised of a communications network connecting all of the offices on a Group-wide basis, will assure the Group is able to continue communications even in the event of a business disruption.
③ Alternative Site
An Alternative Site has been secured for the Head Office (7-1-1 Minatojima-Nakamachi, Chuo-ku, Kobe, JAPAN). In the event of a disaster or disruption to the facilities of the Head Office, a strategy has been put in place to recover critical business operations by relocating to this designated alternative site.
Furthermore, the necessity of an alternative site for all subsidiaries and distribution centers will be evaluated, and if deemed necessary, secured.
④ Disaster Recovery System
A Disaster Recovery System will be introduced to facilitate the protection and restoration of the Group’s information systems on a world-wide basis in the event of a disaster or disruption.
⑤ Supply Chain Risk Management
A system to periodically assess the business continuity capability of key suppliers, i.e. supply chains, is being put in place in order to make sure the suppliers’ business continuity plans meet the requirements of the Group.
⑥ Standards and Regulations
The Group’s Global Business Continuity Policy complies with the Business Continuity Standards and Regulations of Japan and will be monitored and, if necessary, appropriately revised to also comply with guidelines announced by industry group and government agencies of the regions where the Group’s subsidiaries, distribution centers, and retail stores are located.
⑦ Education and Training
The respective regional BCM Centers shall periodically conduct training exercises and educational campaigns in order to enhance the effectiveness of the business continuity of the respective BCM Center as well as the business continuity of the Group as a whole.
